[Susan Lawly | Very Friendly | Whitehouse | WIlliam Bennett | UK]

The newest project of William Bennett of UK noise/industrial legends Whitehouse.
“William Bennett, with or without Whitehouse, is a complicated man. Cut Hands, his latest project, might initially seem like a departure from the harassing Noise-critique of Whitehouse, but there are continuities….Cut Hands is one of the only truly thoughtful responses to the question of where Noise can go next, because it at once breaks with and continues it so profoundly. Afro Noise I is a remarkable record, whichever way you look at it, and it will be interesting to see how Bennett’s dedicated fans react to it. If he no longer says anything out loud, it’s because he doesn’t need to. Menacing, intricate and every bit as cerebrally scarring as any viciously dark synthpolemic, the sound does the work for him.”
– The Wire Magazine, June 2011

TM EYE
[Pittsburgh, PA | Machine Age Records and Studio]
http://www.pittsburghcitypaper.ws/imager/two-against-nature-tm-eye/b/big/1393967/063b/01_music3.jpg
“While TM Eye’s music is wholly danceable, song titles like ‘Pollution’ and ‘Deepwater Horizon’ suggest the electronics – and – vocals duo is up to something more than just kicking out
party jams. Its aesthetic is steeped in cultural references and the music is a fusion between song – based writing and classic dance music influences. The sound of TM Eye is distinctly shaped by Pittsburgh’s post – industrial legacy and its effect on the people and the landscape of the city. TM Eye is Phil Boyd, best known as the singer and guitarist in Modey Lemon, and Preslav Lefterov, an electronic music producer and one of the founders of Machine Age studios in Pittsburgh. The band came together in late 2009 and performed their first shows in early 2010. TM Eye has supported Blondes, Matthew Dear, and Girl Talk in Pittsburgh over the past year.”

TROGPITE
[Pittsburgh, PA | Sabbath Reality | Lighten Up Sounds]
http://a1.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/108/b13c4920d1ef4137b2f44caadcc110af/l.jpg
“Slamming yet minimal industrial landscapes constructed with tape loops, samplers, electronics and voice. Trogpite is the curious moniker of [Pittsburgh, PA] based sound artist Nick Painter. He has been involved with various crews of sonic delinquents over the years including Lord Bird Golden Cobra (w/ Kenneth Painter Jr.), Fuck Telecorps (w/ Edgar Um Bucholtz), Casual Approach (w/ Joseph Roemer), Cock Scene Investigator (w/ Ed Um and Joe Roemer) and Veras Unlimited (w/ an early Lighten Up split cassette release under their belt) to name a few. This new long play cassette collects a full hour of solo electro-creep. Greased tape-loops and loose grooves are slowly piled up and ultimately destroyed. Not overwhelmingly harsh, but totally rhythmic and sleazy minimalism. Beats, grunts and nasty moods.” — Lighten Up Sounds label description of ‘Noise Nancy’ c60 cassette
